TAPPI’s International Flexible Packaging and Extrusion Division (IFPED) is hosting a panel discussion titled Making Converting Innovation a Reality as part of BNP Media’s Global Pouch Forum, June 11-13, 2019 in Chicago.
The panel, moderated by Mica’s Technical Sales Director, Rob Hammond, will takes place Thursday, June 13, 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. and will discuss the status of flexible packaging’s innovative technology as it relates to the 100% recyclable packaging goal set by the industry in the 2025 Sustainability Initiative. Panelists represent most of the packaging supply chain and will discuss how their companies approach innovation.
“If we are going to innovate and meet the criteria that the 2025 Initiative requires, then we will have to work together as a team – from all suppliers to all end-users,” said Rob Hammond, who is also an IFPED Division Council Member and Technical Program Team member. “Panelists will each speak about innovations in their companies and how they approach creating those innovations. This will be followed by a Q&A session.”
Panelists are Dr. Richard Berry, CTO, Celluforce; Evan Arnold, Director, Product Development & Engineering, Glenroy, Inc., and Scott Romenesko, Director of Innovation and Intellectual Property, Hudson-Sharp, A BarryWehmiller Flexible Packaging Company. Hammond will serve as moderator.
“IFPED is excited to be presenting this panel at Global Pouch,” said Hammond. “There is very good synergy between us as we both address the same customers and suppliers in the Flexible Packaging market segment.”
