The TAPPI Extrusion Coating Course, which is hosted by the IFPED Division and has traditionally been an in-person event pre-pandemic, has pivoted to a six-part virtual series. Starting September 15th and continuing every other Wednesday through November 17th, This convenient, interactive course will cover the complete ins and outs of the extrusion process. Introductory employees, young professionals, and established professionals needing a refresh are encouraged to attend from virtually anywhere. Instructors will present live and attendees will be able to ask questions, making these sessions invaluable.
Mica's Darrell Landry and Rob Hammond, both of whom have more than 25 years of experience in extrusion coating, will be presenting during the course. On October 27th, Darrell will discuss how to choose the ideal substrates and conditions for your extrusion coating process in the session "Extrusion Coating Substrates". On November 10th during the session "Chemical Primers- What, Why, How and Troubleshooting", Rob will share practical information about how and why chemical primers are used in the extrusion coating process, as well as some troubleshooting tips.
