Shelton, CT
For the second year in a row, Mica Corporation has received the Clean Sweep Volunteer of the Year Award presented by the city of Shelton, CT.
Mica Corporation’s HQ location teamed up with neighbor and local business, Electri-Cable Assemblies, to rid Ivy Brook Road and surrounding areas of debris. The team gathered and disposed of 40 bags of litter, a pile of broken furniture, and even an old credit card machine.
For the past 10 years during Earth Week, the City of Shelton’s Parks and Recreation Department has hosted the “Clean Sweep” event to encourage citizens and businesses to clean up local parks, streets, and waterways. Each year, the mayor of Shelton presents one individual, one organization, and one business with the award.
Andrew Siegel, Mica’s Vice President and participant in this years’ Clean Sweep said, “Receiving recognition for our efforts is an honor. We look forward to this cleanup each year, as it’s an opportunity for our team to apply our eco-conscious beliefs beyond Mica’s walls..”
Mica plans to participate in the Clean Sweep, among other community volunteer efforts, again next year.
