Mica Corporation, a global leader in water-based primers and coatings for the flexible converting industry, is excited to introduce Roel Seegers as the new Technical Sales Representative in Europe. Roel will work to expand the company’s presence in Europe while actively engaging with Mica's customers and partners to solve the industry’s toughest challenges related to adhesion, barrier, heat sealing, and sustainability.
Roel Seegers brings more than 12 years of experience in the flexible packaging sector to his new position. He most recently worked with Earthfirst Biopolymer Films, focusing on renewably sourced biopolymer films and sustainable packaging solutions as alternatives to fossil-based products. In this role, he established valuable connections throughout the entire packaging ecosystem, from raw material suppliers to converters, OEMs, industry associations, and research institutes.
Before his role at Earthfirst Biopolymer Films, Roel worked at Jindal Films Europe (formerly ExxonMobil Chemical Films), where he gained expertise in high-end BOPP film manufacturing and application for added value packaging. In his capacity as Key Account Manager, he managed pan-European accounts for global CPG brand owners, engaging extensively with packaging engineers, food technologists, converters, and OEMs.
Roel's began his career in the flexible packaging industry at the European branch of Scholle Corporation (now part of SIG), where he contributed to the growth of Bag-in-Box liquid packaging. His roles at Scholle included business manager and later Commercial Manager for Northwest Europe.
Roel holds a BSc in Economics and Communications and lives in the Netherlands with his wife and two children.
