Mica Corporation was founded in 1971 with a mission to develop and supply environmentally-responsible, water-based products to the flexible converting industry which, at the time, was predominantly using solvent-based primers, coatings, and adhesives. Over four decades later, Mica still honors these values and strives to maintain and enhance the product quality customers have come to expect, while we continue to be an advocate for the environment by improving the sustainability of our products, our facilities, and our community.
Mica Corporation supplies a wide variety of environmentally-responsible, high-performance products to the global flexible converting industry for extrusion, printing, coating, heat-seal, graphic effect, and barrier applications that are:
Many of Mica’s products are FDA compliant for direct and indirect food contact. Mica complies with the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Mica’s research and development team are continuously innovating products and technologies to assist with energy and waste reduction in the supply chain and beyond. Some of these projects include the use of bioengineered resins and additives made from plant-based materials and the development of products with a higher percentage of solids. It is our belief that if we continue this focus, we can contribute to achieving sustainability in our industry on a global scale.
Mica Corporation’s advocacy for the environment extends beyond its products, manufacturing processes, and sales offices. Mica participates annually in the national “Clean Sweep” initiative to apply its values of preserving the environment locally. The cleanups have resulted in the removal of dozens of bags of litter and debris from our neighborhood, but what about the other 364 days of the year?
